Orissa — an appeal

ORISSA is in a bad state,
Come ! help it before it’s too late.
Donate something and be generous,
Do it kindly, without any fuss.
If you are a good citizen,
See what they feel,
With your help, their sorrows might heal.

— Anupreet Kaur Paik

My family

We have a wonderful dad
He keeps us always glad
He gives us love and protection
Thus, showers on us his affection
He finds time to play with us
Plans for our all-round success
He looks like an angelic god
When he smiles to convey his nod
My loving and caring mother
And my playful younger brother
Pass our days quite happily
Oh! how deeply I love my family

— Shreen Saini

My dear grandma

She is like a beautiful fairy
She is the glow of the sun
We love her from the depth of our heart
And had a lot of fun
She cried for our sorrows
And smiled at our success
An idol of sacrifice is she
And we’re nothing, this I confess
She loved us and cared for us
And whatever we are today — she has made
We can never forget her face
She is like a glowing star
Oh my dearest grandma
Now why you’ve gone so far
We are all alone in this world
We are orphans without your touch
We shall always remember your love
And will always love you very much
May you remain happy wherever you go
We can just pray for you
We are your children and your love
And we’ll realy miss you too
We are thankful to you grandma
You have nurtured us all through
Wherever we be or wherever you go
Remember we will always love you
