Hooch toll rises to 101 DHAKA, May 9 (PTI) The death toll from spurious home-brewed liquor consumption in Narsingdi, about 35 km from here, has risen to 101 after 37 more deaths were reported overnight, even as condition of at least 36 more persons admitted to different hospitals were reported to be critical, a leading Bangladeshs English daily reported today. Top ULFA man killed GUWAHATI, May 9 (PTI) Three persons, including a top ULFA militant, were killed and two others injured in separate incidents in Assam since yesterday, official sources said here today. The self-styled action group commander of ULFA, Jayati Deka, was shot dead by troops of the Armys 21 Mountain Division today in an encounter at Barbila village in lower Assams Nalbari district. |
