Directive to govt on Plus 21 channel
NEW DELHI, March 26 (PTI) — The Delhi High Court today asked the Centre whether adult programmes under the controversial Plus 21 channel were being telecast through cable networks by Global Internet Ltd in violation of the Cinematograph Act. A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Devender Gupta and Mr Justice K.S. Gupta ordered the Centre to probe how many cable operators were retransmitting programmes of Plus 21 adult channel in violation of law and submit a report to the court in this regard by May 3, the next date of hearing.  

Dalai Lama
BEIJING, March 26 (PTI) — Chinese President Jiang Zemin has lashed out at the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, accusing him of heading a separatist group and broke diplomatic convention to attack the Swiss Government over anti-China protest by Tibetans in Bern. 'The Tibet issue is not a religious but a political issue concerning the Dalai Lama,' Jiang was quoted as saying by official Xinhua news agency last night in Bern, where he is on a state visit.Top
