Liquor seized: Twenty two boxes of Indian-made foreign liquor and 50 kg of lahan have been seized by the police and the Punjab Excise Department. Four persons were arrested in this connection, according to the SSP here on Thursday.

Film premiere: The premiere of the film "Train to Pakistan" (in Hindi and Punjabi) will be organised at a local cinema in the city on April 23. Mr Manpreet Singh Badal, MLA, who is organising the show, said on Thursday that on the same day, CD and audio cassettes of Japjee and Gurmat Sangat by Music Today would also be released by Mr Parkash Singh Badal.

HAMIRPUR
Engineers' association: A sammelan of the Himachal Pradesh Junior Engineers Association will be held at Una on May 4 and 5. This was stated here on Thursday by Mr D.S. Dhatwalia, General-Secretary of the association. Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, would inaugurate the sammelan. He said senior national-level leaders of the junior engineers and other employees' organisations would also attend the sammelan.

Dharna: The Classical and Vernacular Teachers Sangh of Himachal Pradesh has decided to organise a state-level dharna in front of office of the Director of Education in Shimla on May 7. About 4,000 teachers will take part in the dharna, according to Mr T.C. Guleria, Chairman of the Classical and Vernacular Teachers Action Committee. He said here on Thursday that the sangh had decided to continue the first phase of the agitation by wearing black badges till May 6.top
