The Lions Club, Rattia, will organise a free
eye check-up camp at Lions Bhavan on September
26. Dr Sushil Indora, MP from the Sirsa
parliamentary constituency, will be the chief
guest.
Armed
forces
Recruitment
to the armed forces for youths of Fatehabad,
Hisar, Sirsa, Kaithal and Jind districts will be
held from September 20 to 24 at Hisar cantonment.
According to the DC, the recruitment to wards of
ex-servicemen would be held on September 22.
Drinking
water
The Haryana
Public Health Minister, Mr Jagan Nath, has said
that the State Government had provided 70 litre
per capita drinking water to 650 villages in the
State under its desert development scheme. It has
set a target of providing this facility to 110
more villages by March, 1999.

SIRSA
1 killed
One person was killed on the spot and one
injured seriously when their scooter collided
with a jeep near Kagdana village on the Rajasthan
border on Monday. The two were going to Bhadra.
Body found
The body of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, a Kashmiri
labourer of Malhar village, was found at Runkali
near Sandhu, Theog, on Monday. The body has been
sent for a post-mortem examination.
Injured
Fifteen persons, including a woman, a
constable and an infant, were injured in an
accident near Ram Nagria village on the Rania
road in the district on Monday. The accident
occurred when a private bus coming to Sirsa
collided with a Haryana Roadways bus. The driver
of the Roadways bus has absconded.
SONEPAT
Mishap
Sri Bhagwan (28) of Butana village was killed on
the spot when a truck hit his motor cycle on the
Gohana-Rohtak road, 35 km from here, on Sunday.
Mr Nafe Singh Lathwal, a lawyer, who was driving
the motor cycle was injured.
Higher studies
The Haryana Government has invited applications
from students belonging to the Scheduled Castes
who want to go for higher studies. The last date
for the submission of applications is September
30.
YAMUNANAGAR
Killed
Mange Ram, a rickshaw-puller, allegedly killed
his wife, Rekha (35), after a minor dispute.
According to police sources, Rekha had returned
to her husband after a compromise, as they were
having differences over many issues. A case has
been registered under Sections 302 and 234, IPC.
