Eight held in contract killing case

DEHRADUN: The state police today arrested eight persons for a contract killing.



Dehradun, December 21

The state police today arrested eight persons for a contract killing. They were sent to jail after a case was registered against them.

According to information, Rakesh Bisht had lodged a complaint at Kiccha police station that Pratap Bisht was brutally murdered by contract killers at Kiccha on December 13. He said three accused, who came on a motorcycle, had fired several bullets on Pratap and shot him dead before fleeing the spot. A police team on a tip-off raided several places and nabbed Shahjade, Sahib, and Shahjad, all residents of Sahahjanpur, near Kiccha.

It was revealed that Wahajad Khan and his accomplices had offered Rs 4 lakh to the culprits to kill Bisht. The investigation team had arrested all five accused, who hired the contract killers. They were identified as Mansoor Ali, Yatidnera Chauhan, Govind Singh, Manoj Singh and Wahajad Khan, all residents of Kiccha in Udham Singh Nagar. DGP BS Sidhu has given a reward of Rs20,000 to the team. — TNS
