Annual function

Chandigarh: The students of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, put up a mesmerising and colourful show during their two-day annual function. The event was organised on the school premises. The students of the primary and pre-primary section performed various dances. The audience applauded every performance that conveyed the significance of colours in life ranging from the vibrant violet, incredible indigo, ravishing red, to gorgeous green with each colour having its own symbolism. The magic of dance could be felt in the ribbon dance that was performed by the students of Class III.

 

The importance of sports and exercise, which play a pivotal role in our life, was highlighted by the students through their energetic aerobics session.

 

Quiz competition

 

An inter-school GK quiz competition was held at Government High School, Sector 53, (Smart School) on Friday. A total of 268 students from 48 government and private schools of Chandigarh participated in the event.

 

Annual function

 

Green Castle School, Sector 47-C, celebrated its annual function with fun and fervour on the school premises. Several cultural events were organised to mark the occasion. The students presented an entertaining colourful extravaganza on the occasion.

 

NSS unit

 

A special camp of the NSS unit was inaugurated by Principal of GMSSS 37-B, Raviraj Kaur, on Friday. A large number of volunteers will attend a special camp from December 18-24. Paramvir Singh, in charge of the boys unit, and Jaswinder Kaur, in charge of the girls unit, have planned a 7-day event which will help them enhance their personality.

 

Poetry recitation

 

An inter-house poetry recitation competition was held at The Heritage Public High School. Colonel Wig presided over the occasion. The contestants were divided into four categories. The first group was from Class I and II.

 

Annual NSS camp

 

The NSS unit of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, organised the opening ceremony of the annual NSS camp 2014-15. Dr Abhishek Dhawan, director, Medicare Dental Clinic and Implant Centre, was the chief guest.

 

Prize distribution function

 

The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 31, celebrated the annual cultural and prize distribution function on Friday. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by Gp Capt PK Routa, who was the chief guest.

 

Inter-school competition
