In a bid to mobilise support for PDP candidates in RS Pura and Suchetgarh before winding up the campaign for the last phase of polls, party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today tried to strike an emotive chord with inhabitants.
“When some forces had launched a malicious campaign against me in Kashmir, the people of RS Pura had elected me as MLA in the 1985 byelection,” he recalled.
“During the 1985 campaign, some people had dubbed me as an outsider. Residents of RS Pura had set an example of communal harmony and brotherhood by reposing faith in me. I am still indebted to the people of this border belt,” he said.
Addressing a series of public meetings in RS Pura and Gandhi Nagar areas of Jammu district, he said the formation of a PDP government was inevitable because people had made up their mind to give it a chance to provide them an accountable and corruption-free government.
