After a spell of dry winter, rain and snow lashed Uttarakhand. While higher reaches of the state experienced heavy snowfall, plains witnessed continuous rainfall.

Higher reaches of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Auli and other parts of Garhwal and other higher areas in Kumaon experienced first snowfall of the season while lower hills and plains received continuous rainfall. According to Dehradun met office, rain and snow would occur at many places in the next 24 hours. Hailstorm could also occur at places.

In Dehradun, people woke up to a gloomy day with overcast skies. It soon started raining. Rain continued, bringing down temperatures and creating cold wave-like conditions. Though the day being second Saturday of the month, state government offices were closed, normal life was affected due to continuous rain and cold.
