A woman died and four others were injured after a truck collided with an auto-rickshaw on the Pinjore-Nalagarh stretch of the national highway the previous night.
The victims, residents of Chikken village in Pinjore block, were on their way back home after attending a religious function at Nanakpur village when a speeding truck hit the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in near Basaulan village around 9.30 pm.
The passers-by rushed the injured to a private hospital in Pinjore, where one of the victims, Jagiro Devi (40), was declared brought dead. Her husband, Shyam Lal, sustained serious injuries and was referred to the General Hospital in Panchkula.
The other injured persons are Manjit Kaur, Ajit Singh and Aditya Kumar. The police have registered a case.
