Army martyrs remembered

Srinagar: The Chinar Corps celebrated the day on Tuesday. It remembered heroes and martyrs of the war and reiterated its commitment to the people. Ceremonies were held for soldiers at Badami Bagh Cantonment and ex-servicemen at Naugam and Tangdhar in Kupwara.

Ceremonies were held for soldiers at Badami Bagh Cantonment and ex-servicemen at Naugam and Tangdhar in Kupwara.

The General Officer Commanding, Lt Gen Subrata Saha, laid a wreath at the War Memorial. He visited a district where a medical camp was organised.

An outreach camp for 300 retired soldiers and their families was organised in Tangdhar. It was for the first time that specialists rendered medical care to patients at their doorstep.

The Army distributed 24 modified scooters among the differently abled. The Chinar Corps was in charge of the state during the war.
