A team of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau led by Additional SP Shushil Sharma today arrested a patwari red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 from a local resident in lieu of handing him over papers related to his land at his Saproon office here.
Confirming the news, Shushil said the patwari Suraj Prakash committed this deed in his office and Rs 5,000 were recovered from his office drawer.
The patwari was arrested and a case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him while further investigations were underway.
