Khattar gives nod to five housing projects for slum-dwellers

CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved five projects worth Rs 317.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved five projects worth Rs 317.54 crore for providing houses to the slum-dwellers in Faridabad, Gurgaon, Bahadurgarh and Rohtak.

Under the projects, 7,241 multi-storey units will be constructed and basic amenities will be provided to the slums of these towns.

The Chief Minister was presiding over the second meeting of the state-level sanctioning and monitoring committee of the Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) here.

Khattar directed officers to prepare slum-free city plan of all towns under nine Municipal Corporations of the state as well as of Sirsa and Hansi within six months. He asked them to ensure timely completion of the housing projects and ensure quality work.

He said that third party certification in the RAY should be got done for quality checking. He expressed desire for increasing participation of beneficiaries and office-bearers of the Resident Welfare Associations under the RAY.
