Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar  has approved amendments to the Haryana Municipal Corporation Election Rules, 1994, and the Haryana Municipal Election Rules, 1978. The candidates contesting civic body elections would now have to furnish information about their movable or immovable property, educational qualification, details of profession or occupation, PAN and status of filing of Income tax returns and any liabilities or dues to public financial institutions and government with an affidavit. — TNS

Crushing season   

Minister of State for Cooperation Bikram Singh Yadav said during the current crushing season the cooperative sugar mills had crushed 31.54 lakh quintals of sugarcane and produced 2,21,870 quintal of sugar. During the same period last year, 31.39 lakh quintals of sugarcane was crushed by the sugar mills and 2,07,925 quintal of sugar was produced.  — TNS

Government retirees

The Haryana Government has ensured that all pensionary benefits to government employees would be released timely after completing all formalities as per rules. An official spokesman said any delay in releasing the pensionary benefits would be viewed seriously and the officers and officials concerned would be held responsible for this lapse. — TNS
