Nairobi: The world's last male northern white rhino, Sudan, has died after "age-related complications." A statement from the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya says the 45-year-old rhino was euthanised on Sunday after his condition "worsened significantly" and he was no longer able to stand. The rhino had been part of an ambitious effort to save the subspecies from extinction with the help of two surviving females. AP
Scotland celebrates Bihar Diwas in own Patna
London: A small town named Patna in the East Ayrshire region of Scotland marked ‘Bihar Diwas’ on Tuesday to celebrate its historic links with the Bihar capital. Patna was established in 1802 by Scottish agriculturist William Fullarton to provide housing for people who worked on his Skeldon estate and coalfields. He named the town after Patna in Bihar, where he was born and spent his formative years. PTI
