US rappers shot dead

WASHINGTON: Two US rappers, XXXTentacion and Jimmy Wopo, were killed on Monday in shootings near Miami and in Pittsburgh.

Washington, June 19

Two US rappers, XXXTentacion and Jimmy Wopo, were killed on Monday in shootings near Miami and in Pittsburgh.

In Florida, the Broward County sheriff's office said XXXTentacion, 20, was shot while leaving a motor sports dealership in Deerfield Beach. Two men fled the scene in a SUV after one of them opened fire, striking the rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, in what investigators said appeared to be a robbery bid. XXXTentacion released his debut album in August 2017. His second album “?” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released in March.

In another incident, Wopo, 21, whose real name was Travon Smart, died after a double shooting in Pittsburgh. His manager Taylor Maglin wrote on Facebook, “I lost my brother. He was destined for greatness and he wanted the best for his friends, family and community.” — Reuters
