India on Monday summoned the Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner and lodged protest at killing of innocent civilians in unprovoked firing on March 18 in the Bhimber Gali sector of J&K.
Syed Haider Shah was summoned following the death of five members of a family in the latest ceasefire violation by Pakistan. “It was conveyed that the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by using high caliber weapons, is highly deplorable,” said the Ministry of External Affairs.
Meanwhille, Pakistan expressed its disappointment at non-issuance of visas to over 503 Pakistani Zaireen to participate at Ajmer Sharif.
‘Indian diplomats chased’
New Delhi: India on Monday reported two fresh cases of harassment of its envoys in Islamabad. According to sources Indian High Commission officials who went shopping were chased in close proximity by two persons in a car at one instance, and by motorcycle borne persons in another incident. “The website of the High Commission continues to be blocked. This is causing inconvenience and has affected normal functioning of the Mission,” said an official source.
