The hill town of Mussoorie experienced moderate snowfall here today. Areas close to the hill town such as Dhanaulti, Surkhanda Devi temple, Kanatal, Chamba, Moriana Top and New Tehri received a fresh spell of snow.

Heavy to moderate snowfall, accompanied by rain and sleet, lashed many parts of Uttarkashi district. Harsil, Sukhi Top, Gangotri and Yamunotri received moderate snowfall.

Lal Tibba in Mussoorie wore a white mantle as it received around 2 inches of snow while Dhanaulti experienced six inches of snow.

Commuters were left stranded at Suvakholi in Uttarkashi due to slippery roads. They had to walk several kilometres to reach their destinations.

Dhanaulti Ecological Park president Padam Singh Kathait, secretary Kuldeep and other members Dvendar Belwal, Rajpal Singh, Kuldeep, Anil Gusain said heavy snow was a welcome sight. The present snowfall would boost the apple crop, farmers said.

The businessmen in Mussoorie were delighted to see the inflow of tourists due to the fresh spell of snow.

The tourists in anticipation of more snowfall have extended their stay for a day at Dhanaulti and Mussoorie.
