Four killed as car falls into gorge in Tehri

DEHRADUN: Four persons, including a woman and a child, were killed and eight others injured after the car they were travelling in fell into a 150-ft deep gorge in Tehri district today.

Four persons, including a woman and a child, were killed and eight others injured after the car they were travelling in fell into a 150-ft deep gorge in Tehri district today.

The car met with an accident near Teen Dhara in Devprayag area of the district this afternoon, a police official at Devprayag police station said. 

The car occupants were on their way to Haridwar from Rudraprayag when the mishap took place. 

The police official at Devprayag police station said four persons, including the driver were killed on the spot, the official said. 

The injured were taken to nearby hospital where their condition is stable, he said. — PTI
