Chief Minister TS Rawat on Tuesday criticised the opposition Congress for disrupting the House on the status of Gairsain. “The opposition Congress has no right to raise the issue as they did not take any steps when they were in power,” he said.
He said the Congress was in power for 10 years out of 17 years since the state was created but failed to take any steps. “The protest inside the house is aimed at diverting the attention of the general public,” he said while speaking with reporters.
He said his government was committed to building infrastructure at Gairsain. “Yesterday I along with my Cabinet ministers travelled by car to take stock of the situation,” he said.
While the Chief Minister, his Cabinet ministers and MLAs went by car to Gairsain, BJP MLA Desraj Karanwal decided to go by motorcycle, “When we have decided to shun helicopter and reach Gairsain by road, I thought of using the services of motorcycle instead of the car,” he said.
