Honorary Degree for the Maharaja of Kashmir.

THERE will be general satisfaction in this province as in the Jammu and Kashmir State that the Syndicate of the Punjab University has recommend to the Senate that the Degree of Doctor of laws honoris cousa be conferred on His Highness Major General Maharaja Sir Partap Singh of Jammu and Kashmir. His Highness is not only a generous patron of Sanskrit and other learning in his State, but is also running two colleges affiliated to the Punjab University, the Prince of Wales College, Jammu, and the Sri Pratap College at Srinagar. Nor have his Highness educational benefactions been limited to his own State.
