Higher Education for Indian Girls

KUMARI Dev Shobha Bali is the recipient of many congratulations on her success in the recent B.A. examination of the Punjab University.

KUMARI Dev Shobha Bali is the recipient of many congratulations on her success in the recent B.A. examination of the Punjab University. His Honour the Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab and Lady O'Dwyer, the Hon'ble Mr. H.J. Maynard, Financial Commissioner and Vice-Chancellor of the University, the Chief Inspectress of Schools and Mrs. Ingram, Inspectress, Jullundur Division, are among those who have written to the Secretary of Dev Samaj congratulating the Samaj and the first lady graduate of the Punjab of the memorable event. But may we remind these authorities that the facilities for the higher education of girls are at present utterly inadequate and that Indian girls have at present little or no encouragement for such education?
