A Word to the Punjab

TO those of the Punjab we particularly commend the untiring energy, the unflagging zeal, the unflinching enthusiasm of our brethren across the Jamna who are giving such a good account of themselves.

TO those of the Punjab we particularly commend the untiring energy, the unflagging zeal, the unflinching enthusiasm of our brethren across the Jamna who are giving such a good account of themselves. No doubt political service is not entirely a bed of roses, but really how many of our public workers have an equally large 'stake' with that valiant champion of popular rights, the late Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia who attended the Allahabad Session of 1888 when Sir Auckland Colvin, the then Lieutenant Governor of the U.P. was on the war path, and actually delivered a speech from the platforms, and who in 1803 came from the bed of illness to his post of duty as Chairman of the Reception Committee to lead and encourage the public men of his province. Are the countrymen and compatriots of that sturdy patriot so tired of the obligations and burdens of a public and patriotic character as to prefer like Achilles to skulk in the tent?
