6 players arrested for fixing in Jaipur

JAIPUR:Rajasthan Police have arrested fourteen persons including six players for match-fixing and spot-fixing during the Rajputana Premier League (RPL) cricket tournament being held at KL Saini Stadium from July 11 to 21.

Rajasthan Police have arrested fourteen persons including six players for match-fixing and spot-fixing during the Rajputana Premier League (RPL) cricket tournament being held at KL Saini Stadium from July 11 to 21. 

On receiving the information from BCCI that a gang is involved in match-fixing, police carried out raids, leading to the arrest of 14 persons including six state players, said Sanjay Agarwal, Jaipur Police Commissioner. 

Police raided four hotels in the city and allegedly recovered Rs 38.47 lakh, laptops, walky-talkies and 18 mobile phones from their possession. The accused belong to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Jaipur, and are players, umpires and organisers of RPL.  The accused have been identified as Wazir Khan, Bahare Khan, Dinesh Talwar, Rajesh Pareek, Pawan Kumar, Jasvinder Singh, Irfan Khan, Ananddeep Kapoor, Gurmeet Singh, Amandeep alias Sonu, Jatin, Lovepreet, Kaman and Manoj.
