Jalandhar, February 25

The two accused in the triple murder case in Jalandhar were remanded to seven days’ police custody by the duty magistrate here today. They will appear in court on March 4.

Amarinder Singh (40) and his paramour Tejinder Kaur Ruby (29) had been arrested by the city police yesterday for the murder of Amaninder’s wife Paramjit Kaur, his mother Daljit Kaur and friend Khushwinder Kaur. The duo had hired contract killers to carry out the job. The contract killers, Vipin and Amrit, are absconding.

While a 10-day police remand was sought for the two by the Jalandhar police, a seven-day police remand was eventually secured.

The ACP, Central Jalandhar, Manpreet Singh Dhillon said, “The accused were produced before the court of the duty magistrate here today. They have been sent to seven day police custody, during which they shall be kept at the police station number 4. The next date of hearing in the case would be on March 4.”
