AMRITSAR: Glass windows and ceiling of main building at the Shri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport were damaged after a thunderstorm and high-velocity winds hit the city on Thursday night.

Glass windows and ceiling of main building at the Shri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport were damaged after a thunderstorm and high-velocity winds hit the city on Thursday night.

The thunderstorm was followed by rains in the morning.

No injury and financial loss of visitors has been reported. The impact of the thunderstorm was so that the false ceiling of the main hall fell down from various areas.

The air pressure was also imbalanced, which caused damage to the arrival area near the VIP lounge and immigration area.

The glass windows were damaged at the restaurant area, front gate (arrival) and entry gate.

The airport authorities have started the repair work.
