Ludhiana girl tops Punjab school Class 12 board exams

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Monday announced the Class XII results. The overall pass percentage is 65.97 per cent. For toppers reaction watch out for video inside.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Monday announced the Class XII results. 

Puja Joshi of Ludhiana, came first with 98 per cent marks, followed by Vivek Rajput, also from Ludhiana, who scored 97.55 per cent marks. The third spot went to Jasnoor Kaur of Muktsar with 97.33 per cent marks.

Puja Joshi, Vivek Rajput both are from Teja Singh Sutanter Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimlapuri, and Jasnoor Kaur is a student of Dashmesh Public girls Senior Secondary School, Badal.

In the sports category, Prachi Gaur of BSC Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, Ludhiana stood first with 100 per cent marks, Pushwinder Kaur of also from BSC Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, Ludhiana, is second with 100 per cent and Mandeep Kaur of Sant Mohan Das memorial senior secondary school, Kot, Sukhia, Faridkot, stood third with 99.96 per cent marks.Of the total 3,00,417 students, only 1,98,199 could clear the examinations this year.

Of the total 3,00,417 students, only 1,98,199 could clear the examinations this year.

The overall pass percentage is 65.97 per cent. 

The examination for Class XII began on February 28 and ended on March 24.  Last year, the result was declared on May 13.

The results, this year, has being declared earlier as compared to last year, which is a month after the last examination for Classes XII was held. 

A delay in the declaration of results in the past, often as late as May, had posed problems for students during admissions to higher classes, particularly in professional colleges outside the state.
