Health Dept to train cops on tobacco ban

Chandigarh: To check the sale of tobacco, the Health Department has joined hands with the police. The State Tobacco Control Cell, Punjab, is organising a sensitisation workshop regarding the anti-tobacco laws for the police in Mohali on Thursday. Dr Areet kaur, incharge of the cell, said in the first phase, 28 police officials of the level of DSP and above had been chosen for the workshop. They would be made aware of different legal provisions to deal with tobacco control at public places. TNS
