Molestation case: MLA seeks further probe
Ropar: Facing an allegation of molestation, AAP MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa has sought further investigation in the case. Submitting an application in the local court, the MLA has also volunteered for a lie-detection test to prove his innocence. Sandoa’s former landlady had lodged a police complaint alleging that he had pulled her ‘dupatta’ and pushed her when she went to his house to demand the pending rent and other dues July 28 last year. Harsimrat for early nod to cold chains
Chandigarh: Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Friday asked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to instruct officials to issue statutory permissions for two cold chains sanctioned for state that had been inordinately delayed. The Union Minister, in a letter to the CM, said both cold chain projects had the potential to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs for the youth and ensure enhanced prices to the farmers. Dowry: No bail to Vidhan Sabha secy, spouse
Chandigarh: A local court on Friday denied anticipatory bail to Punjab Vidhan Sabha secretary Shashi Mishra Lakhanpaul and her husband SM Mishra. Along with their son Janesh Mishra, the couple was booked in a case involving dowry, cheating and harassment on May 18 last year on the complaint of former Deputy Advocate General Brij Mohan Vinayak. Probe neta-gangster ties, demands Kainth
Chandigarh: The Congress government must constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the politician-gangster nexus in the state in the interest of all stakeholders. Paramjit Singh Kainth, chief of the National Scheduled Castes Alliance, said the government must present a white paper on this issue. 2 brothers found dead
Nangal: The bodies of two brothers were found in a foundation well of a railway bridge on Friday. The deceased, identified as Balbir Singh (25) and Shiv Kumar (17) of Dehni village in the Kot Kahloor area of HP, had been missing since February 7. TNS
