ROPAR: The district police have booked five unidentified persons for attacking a scribe here today.

The district police have booked five unidentified persons for attacking a scribe here today. The complainant, Rajvir Deekshit, who works with a vernacular newspaper, had lodged a complaint that five unidentified persons had attacked him with rods on February 17 near the court complex in Anandpur Sahib.

Deekshit alleged that he was going in his car near the court complex when five youths on three motorcycles reached the spot and obstructed his way. When he slowed down, all five attacked him and he fainted. Soon, lawyers from the court reached the spot, following which the attackers fled and he was taken to a hospital. Ropar SSP Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu said a case was registered. — TNS
