Bathinda, December 13

Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today lashed out at the Congress government for “making a mockery of the local body elections in the state”.

Talking to the mediapersons here, Badal said: “The ruling party is manipulating everything. The nominations of our candidates have been rejected on frivolous grounds. The Congress will resort to unfair practices during polling too. India is known for its vibrant democracy, but what is happening in Punjab is nothing but murder of democracy.”

He alleged that there was neither law and order nor any development taking place in the state. “The Congress has failed in fulfilling its promises. It seems that its leaders are merely busy enjoying the power,” he said.
