Two days after a youth went missing under mysterious circumstances, his body, along with car, were fished out from the Sirhind feeder canal near Bhullar village today. The deceased was identified as Simrandeep Singh, a resident of Kotkapura Road, who was posted as a bank manager at Lakhewali near here.

His family had informed the police that Simrandeep had gone somewhere with his friends on Wednesday night, but did not return. A search operation was launched and a car’s tyre marks were spotted along the canal.

A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and some private divers recovered the body and car from the canal today.
