Need to widen NSS activities, says Punjabi University VC

Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Arvind has emphasised the need to connect NSS volunteers with activities in the fields of environment, plantation, eradication of drug addiction, etc, that bring about a change in society.

Addressing the 8th NSS Youth Convention at Guru Teg Bahadur Hall today, he said NSS inculcated a sense of service in students and also inspired them to help common people voluntarily.

Chairman of Round Glass Foundation Rajneesh Kumar delivered the keynote speech at Yuva Convention. He raised the issues related the environment and emphasised the need to save it. He urged the students to plant more saplings. He gave away prizes of best college, best programme officer and best volunteer to the winners. The in charge of NSS, Prof Mamata Sharma, presented a report on the activities of the NSS.
