Two groups indulged in clash and resorted to firing in Sector 32 on Chandigarh Road on Tuesday evening. One person is said to have sustained bullet injury, but no one turned up before the police to file complaint. The police have launched a probe in the case.
The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras. The police is verifying about persons involved in the clash.
At one point of time, tension spread in the area as commuters witnessed exchanged of fire between the two groups. The moment police reached the spot disputing group members escaped from the area.
The police procured the CCTV footage from the spot. So far, officials are groping in the dark about identification of the groups involved in the clash. Sources said the police had also recovered a motorcycle which, was left behind by a member of one of the groups involved in the clash.
ADCP Rajvir Singh said the police had recovered the CCTV footage in which two group members were seen opening fire. “It has been established that firing has taken place, but the numbers of bullets fired by armed men is yet to be ascertained. We will soon identify the accused and register FIR accordingly,” he added.
“One bike has been recovered and efforts are on to trace its owner. As there is no complainant so we are unable to initiate any action. We will register FIR against unknown persons for disturbing the law and order situation,” said the ADCP.
