National lok adalat passes Rs 41-cr awards

LUDHIANA: National lok adalat passed awards worth Rs41,44,92,555 crore on Sunday and settled 4,852 cases out of 14,589 under the supervision of Sessions Judge-cum-chairman District Legal Services Authority Gurbir Singh.

National lok adalat passed awards worth Rs41,44,92,555 crore on Sunday and settled 4,852 cases out of 14,589 under the supervision of Sessions Judge-cum-chairman District Legal Services Authority Gurbir Singh.

The Sessions Judge along with CJM Dr Gurpeet Kaur inspected the working of different benches of lok adalats. He interacted with litigants encouraging them for amicable settlement of their disputes for peace and harmony in society. He said the concept of lok adalat was gaining momentum day by day.

Additional Sessions Judges JPS Khurmi, Sanjeeta (Family Court ADJ), ADJ RK Berry, CJM Jaapinder Singh, ACJM Suresh Kumar Goel, Judicial Magistrate Bhupinder Mittal, JMIC Rajinder Singh Nagpal, JMIC Ankit Airi, JMIC Anoop Singh, JMIC Varinder Kumar, JMIC Jagjit Singh, JMIC Rajinder Singh Teji, JMIC Manmohan Bhatti , JMIC Insaan, JMIC Shilpa, JMIC Gurinder Pal Singh headed different benches of Lok Adalat in the city. CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Dr Gurpreet Kaur apprised that motor accident claim cases, matrimonial cases, land acquisition cases, civil appeals, rent appeals, criminal appeals (in criminal compoundable cases), traffic challans were taken up in the lok adalat.

DBA president Parupkar Singh Ghumman appealed to the masses to resolve their disputes through lok adalats to save time, money and reduce bitterness.
