It’s festival time and we can never get enough of sweets. Also, also we are looking for light stuff to appease our sweet tooth. This semolina cake qualifies as a very digestible, nutritious, and easy-to-make recipe. Besides, it looks attractive too.
SEMOLINA CAKE: The ingredients
1 cup semolina
1 cup curd
1 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp fruit salt
For tempering:
- 2 tsps olive oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- ½ green capsicum (thinly sliced)
- ½ yellow capsicum (thinly sliced)
- ½ red capsicum (thinly sliced)
- 10-15 curry leaves
- 3-4 green chillies
Method
- Take semolina in a bowl. Now add curd to it and mix well.
- Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
- Now add water to make a batter of pouring consistency.
- Add fruit salt to the batter and pour it in a greased cake tin.
- Now steam it for 10-15 minutes or until done.
- Now transfer it to a serving dish.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and sauté.
- Now add sliced capsicum and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add curry leaves and green chilli and mix well.
- Pour and spread it over the cake.
- Cut into slices and serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
