Jammu, July 19

The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST)-Jammu is playing with the future of candidates who have applied for Class-IV posts.

The university recently issued syllabus for the written test of these posts, which is for graduate-level candidates.

In 2015 the university invited applications for 11 categories of Class-IV posts. Several hundred candidates, who have cleared Class X examinations, applied for the posts. Two years after applying for the jobs, these candidates are yet to get a call letter for the written test or interview.

“SKUAST had invited applications for higher grade posts as well for which written tests and interviews have been conducted. Written test for only Class-IV posts is being delayed again and again,” a source in SKUAST said.

The university had asked these candidates to be prepared for written test in which general intelligence and reasoning, knowledge of English language, general awareness and knowledge of specialised topics would be checked.

“The candidates, whose qualification is Class X pass, will have to appear in a written test which is of the graduate level. It is aimed at facilitating candidates of some university officials,” he said.

The source said a few officials of the university had already appointed their people against these posts on ad hoc basis and wanted them clear written test as well.

“This is the reason why the university is delaying written test and interview again and again so that blue-eyed boys of these officials get a chance to get a permanent job without sitting in any test,” the source said. No university official was available for comments. The Registrar didn’t receive the call despite several attempts.
