The Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers today held a commanding officer-level flag meeting near the Octroi border outpost in RS Pura sector on the International Border.
The meeting was held on the request of the BSF.
Giving details, BSF PRO said the meeting was attended by eight officers from the Indian side which was led by the commandant of the station headquarter, PK Anand, whereas the Pakistan side was led by Wing Commander Lt Col Irfan Khan.
During the meeting, various issues such as the recent detection of tunnel and firing in Ramgarh sector as well as return of Ct Sohan Lal of the J&K Police who crossed over to Pakistan inadvertently in 2014 and other routine issues related to the management of the border were discussed, the PRO said.
During the meeting, both sides assured each other of maintaining peace and tranquility in the border area. The meeting concluded in a very cordial atmosphere.
This was the first flag meeting between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers this year after the border skirmish last year.
