Mehbooba extends greetings on Mahashivratri

JAMMU: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today extended warm greetings to people of the state on the auspicious festival of ‘Mahashivratri’, celebrated as ‘Hairath’ in the Kashmir valley.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today extended warm greetings to people of the state on the auspicious festival of ‘Mahashivratri’, celebrated as ‘Hairath’ in the Kashmir valley.

In her felicitations, the Chief Minister hoped that the auspicious day would usher the state in a new era of peace and development and strengthen bonds of brotherhood among the people.

The Chief Minister said the festival had both religious and cultural importance as the day was celebrated by people of all shades.

The Chief Minister recalled that the day was celebrated in the Valley as Hairath by Kashmiri Hindus in amity with the Muslim brothers.
