Jammu, July 17
The BSF and Pakistan Rangers today held a Commandant-Wing Commander-level flag meeting in the Samba sector along the International Border.
The one-hour meeting was held at the request of Pakistan Rangers.
Giving details, a BSF spokesperson said during the meeting, the commanders of both border forces discussed various issues, including the recent unprovoked firing in the Samba sector and other routine issues related to border management.
“It was decided to re-energise communication between field commanders to resolve petty matters. The meeting was held in a cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed to expeditious implementation of the decisions taken in the earlier meeting and committed to maintain peace and tranquillity at the International Border,” the spokesperson said. — TNS
