Factionalism in the BJP came to fore during an anti-Congress rally, oganised by the SAD-BJP, at KG Resorts here yesterday as no senior leader of the BJP, including official unit of block BJP, Phagwara, was present at the rally.

The rally was organised by Phagwara MLA Som Parkash and Mayor Arun Khosla. Former market committee chairman Sarwan Singh Kular, deputy mayors Surinder Singh Walia and Ranjit Singh Khurana, besides BJP leaders, including Rakesh Duggal and former nagar council president Balbhdhar Sein Duggal, attended the rally.

However, loyalists of Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla, including Block BJP president Pankaj Chawla, former Improvement Trust Chairman Tejaswi Bhardwaj, and their supporters BJP councillors, all patronised by Union MoS-cum- Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla, remained absent from the   rally.

Meanwhile the speakers, including MLA Som Parkash and Mayor Khosla, said defated Congress leader Joginder Singh Maan was unduly interfering in the work of civil and police Administration, who they alleged, had become tools in the hands of Maan.

They alleged nothing had been done by the Congress-led state government for the people till now and people were fed up with the false assurances of the state government.
