Jalandhar, January 17
The police arrested a 24-year-old person with 200-gm heroin from Lohian today. The accused has been identified as Sarwan Singh. He was deported from the USA.
A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
The police said the accused took a loan of Rs 30 lakh, which is yet to be paid back. The police added that the accused wanted pay the loan amount and came in contact with Bichitar Singh, a resident of Moga. Bichitar asked the accused to supply heroin to earn money.
