Jalandhar, February 19

Pensioners of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sagathan (KVS) held a meeting here to discuss the injustice being done to them by denying the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission.

As many as 30 retired KVS employees prepared a charter of demands and sent it to the Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sagathan, New Delhi.

They expressed their disillusionment at the callous attitude of the KVS and the government towards their demands. They said despite consistent efforts of the All India Retired Employees Welfare Society, led by Jagat Singh and Chander Mohan Dubey, no action was taken in this regard even after two years.

They also pledged solidarity with the All India KVS Retired Welfare Society that planned to carry forward the movement. One of the employees told the media that several letters had already been dispatched to the PMO and the HRD ministry on the issue but to no avail.

A dharna was also staged by the retired teachers/employees on September 5, 2017. The demands of the retired employees include immediate implementation of the seventh CPC to KVS pensioners. Enhancement of FMA to Rs 1,000 as per the seventh CPC. Provision of the CGHS facility at stations of availability. Implementation of the MACP with effect from January 1, 2006, to KVS as per the decision taken by the court applicable to the Central Government employees.
