JALANDHAR: Five persons were nabbed by the police in various crackdowns across city areas today to nab elements indulging in the sale of intoxicant substances.

Five persons were nabbed by the police in various crackdowns across city areas today to nab elements indulging in the sale of intoxicant substances. Various police teams during raids in different areas of the city seized intoxicants and stolen goods in a huge quantity that included intoxicant injections, stolen mobile phones and intoxicant powder. Cops arrested Rahul Seth, a resident of New Baldev Nagar, as well as Rishav Sharma of Shiv Nagar, Sodal, Jalandhar, from whom 13 intoxicant injections were recovered. A case was registered under Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act at the police station No. 3.

In other raids, the police arrested Upinder Mukhia, a resident of Hardeep Nagar, Raju Abdul, alias Raju, a resident of Pepsi Ground from whom 210 gm of intoxicant powder, 12 mobile phones of various companies and a motor cycle were recovered.

A case under Sections 379-B and 411 of the IPC as well as Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the duo.

In yet another crackdown, the police nabbed Munish Kumar, alias Prince, a resident of Ujala Nagar, Basti Sheikh, Jalandhar, after four cartons of liquor were recovered from him. A case was registered against them at the police station No. 2. The raids were held under a campaign to target those selling intoxicant substances in the city.
