Hamirpur, February 23
BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda said the Centre has been proactively working to expand the health sector of the country. He made these remarks during a visit to AIIMS-Bilaspur for inaugurating several facilities.
Powergrid contributes from CSR funds
- Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said a 128 slice CT scanner has been installed in the hospital at a cost of Rs 7 crore with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding from POWERGRID
- He said it would provide faster and precise imaging combined with clarity in shorter time, reducing waiting time for patients
- An MRI machine shall also be provided by POWERGRID at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore and a “Vishram Sadan” having a capacity of 250 people would also be constructed at a cost of Rs 26 crore
An radiation oncology centre, 128 Slice CT Scanner and liquid medical oxygen plant were among the facilities inaugurated by Nadda today. He also laid the foundation stone of “Vishram Sadan” at the hospital.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, LoP and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and POWERGRID CMD Ravindra Kumar Tyagi were also present on the occasion.
Mandaviya said the radiation oncology service had been started at the hospital with to provide state-of-the-art radiotherapy treatment to cancer patients with cutting-edge machinery costing Rs 30 crore.
He added that with the help of advanced technology, cancer patients can be treated through High Energy Linear Accelerator (HELA), HDR Brachy therapy and 4D CT Simulator, which help in planning the treatment with precision.
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to providing the best healthcare services to the people of the country. He claimed that AIIMS-Bilaspur had been constructed in record time.
Nadda said: “The Centre has been proactively working for the transformation of health sector which can not only be witnessed in the expansion of the AIIMS network but also in other areas of the health sector like the doubling of medical colleges, increase in MBBS and PG seats, creation of nursing colleges, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and other similar policies.”
The BJP president also spoke about other achievements in the health sector in the last 10 years, including more than 80 per cent success in treatment of TB cases, reduction in prices of stents and medicines and facilitating their wider reach across the nation through the expansion of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, promoting holistic healthcare through the creation of AYUSH blocks in medical institutes like AIIMS, creation of bulk drug parks, etc.
