Uncle held for 8-yr-old''s rape in Hisar village

The police have arrested the uncle of an eight-year-old girl for allegedly raping her in Rajthal village in the district on Wednesday night.

The police said that the uncle who had been staying with the family in a jhuggi on the outskirts of the village had taken the girl away from the jhuggi when all other family members had gone to sleep and sexually assaulted her.

Narnaund DSP Joginder Singh told the mediaperson that the police zeroed in on the uncle during the probe. He would be produced in a court on Sunday, he said.

The family of the girl had stated in a complaint that the girl was abducted from her "jhuggi" and raped on Wednesday night. The family had alleged that the her clothes were torn and she was bleeding profusely when they woke up hearing her screams at about 11.30 pm.

Police sources said that the police got suspicious about the uncle as he changed his statements about the incident during questioning.
