Karnal, April 21
The police have arrested a 55-year-old shopkeeper for allegedly raping a 14-year-old mentally challenged girl at his shop in Newal village of the district.
Sources said some residents of the village caught him red-handed on April 16, but they did not report the matter as the accused pretended to suffered a heart attack.
In a complaint to the police, family members of the victim stated that Rajinder allegedly raped their minor daughter by offering her Rs20.
Kunjpura SHO Raj Kumar Ranga said the accused has been arrested and a case registered.
