The directions issued by the Haryana Government to its bureaucrats to show respect to elected MLAs and MPs has led to resentment among babus.

The babus have been viewing it as an outcome of INLD leader and Leader of Opposition Abhay Chautala taunting CM Manohar Lal Khattar that "officers didn't even get up from their seats when the CM arrived".

Abhay specifically advised Khattar not to tolerate such behavior and the CM assured he will make them respect elected leaders.

Abhay said bureaucrats' behaviour was unacceptable and blames Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime for "pampering" them.

"None dared to ignore a call from the CM even at midnight during OP Chautala regime," he said.

Worried and anxious, many bureaucrats said they had received nothing in writing so far.
