Panipat stadia equally bad

Almost all stadiums in the district lack basic amenities. Even three years after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s announcement, the Sports Department and administration have failed to identify land to construct a new stadium here.

Lakshmi Devi, sarpanch of Bhodwal Majri, said the stadium had not been completed. Around 150 children went for practice, but there was neither a coach nor equipment, she added.

In Manana village, known for girls playing kho-kho, the players practised in the school ground. Ram Swaroop Rathi, secretary of the district kho-kho association, said the stadium did not have a roof or track for practice.
