On the complaint of the victim’s brother-in-law Sitender, a case has been registered  against Jagmel and a college woman staff member, Yogesh.

The police said three persons — Akash and Amit, “who kept vigil when the crime was committed” and the accused’s uncle Dinesh, whose licensed revolver was used — have been arrested.

Sitender said he had dropped Rajesh (his sister’s husband) and Rajesh’s daughter Lalita to the college in his car this morning. He was waiting for Lalita to return so that they could go to Delhi when he heard shots being fired and saw a youth coming out of the staff room.

He claimed an employee told him that Yogesh was also involved in the murder. There had been reports of molestation and eve-teasing against Jagmel.

In January, a Class XII Yamunanagar student had killed the school principal with his father’s revolver. — OC
